3. Why the FEMINIST EARTH?
Because feminism is evolutionary, like nature. Feminism is the will to understand and articulate the negated aspects of life from a female point-of-view and create a better life for women. It is a set of ideas and a mental outlook that connect to history, motive, action and outcome. And now we must expand the feminist mandate to heal the planet and define a better life for all living things. With this in mind, the Feminist Earth relates not only to Mother Nature but to the nature, creativity and exercise of women’s power. Why the Feminist Earth? Why the patriarchal power structure?
For all of man’s genius that has won out on the good side of life, it’s a pity that the extremely bad inevitably takes over. Bad refers to threats to life on earth in the sense of natural law -- not to ideological or religious pieties. Patriarchal pieties have tricked us into believing that some force other than Mother Nature determines what is good and bad, and who should or should not survive – when, where and how. Bowing to these notions, we accept the authority of the pietous who generate them and engineer their desired effects. Now we think they will turn on a dime, confront their wretched doings and actually solve the earth’s crisis. It would be a comforting idea (like a children’s story) if the bungles weren’t so mind boggling.
It’s a little late for explanations, but there does seem to be a reasonable theory about why we have so willingly gone down Hoodwink Road to meet our own destruction. This is the concept of internalized oppression. Although what follows is a very brief explanation, the idea is useful and a warning against future mental aberrations.
